Network Architect (Ref: AR/MP)

Principal responsibilities

Your responsabilities will be: 

  • Design and recommend consistent and appropriate infrastructure and technology solutions.
  • Implement infrastructure and technology solutions.
  • Work with the EMEA architecture team plus the global infrastructure team to define the technical strategy and the selection and implementation of new technologies
  • Build an effective relationship with all component of the EMEA infrastructure team
  • When local infrastructure is standardized, transfer support activity to the EMEA operation team
  • Maintain up to date the EMEA infrastructure inventory and documentation

In the context of the two Enterprise Data Centers, working collaboratively with the global WAN team, the Network Architect is in charge to define the LAN strategy then to implement it and to support it at the Level 3 while ensuring the corresponding documentation is kept up to date and appropriate knowledge transfer occurs in order to enable other teams to perform L1 and L2 support on a daily basis. He delivers connectivity information to other teams to ensure new systems are appropriately introduced into the network in term of cost, performance and security.

In addition, working closely with the country service delivery organization, the Network Architect promotes company standards for remote sites located in France. He recommends changes and improvements leading towards a more standardized, remotely manageable country network that accommodates business changes. He ensures the required documentation production and maintenance to pass daily support to Operations team.

The Network Architect also participates to, and possibly leads, some global initiatives (TOIP, Global WiFi,…).

To deliver an efficient service, the industrialization of all tasks will have to be analyzed in detail. All technical aspect will have to be documented to share knowledge across the whole Architecture team.

To succeed in those initiatives, build synergy and trust relationship with your peer in Europe will be a key element.

The needs of the business and the technologies change continuously therefore formulating, embracing and driving change is a critical part of this role.

Research Profil

Your skills will be:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive & resilient
  • Working knowledge and understanding of agency operation and business priorities
  • Team work
  • More than 5 years experience in LAN/WAN architecture.
  • Expertise in CISCO environment is mandatory
  • Educated to degree level and with a recognised professional qualification
