Our customer is a software editor which develops Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)-based traffic intelligence products allowing to classify traffic in real-time and provide granular information about network activities. This allows most equipment makers, some telcos, cloud providers or cybersecurity vendors to provide an accurate picture of the netwok. Their customers include some of the most important communication service providers and networking solution vendors in the world.
Their products support a wide range of protocols and are delivered as software development kits or standalone network sensors to network equipment manufacturers, telecom suppliers, and vendors of cybersecurity software.
The R&D team based in France is a human sized R&D dedicated to investigation on networked applications and is looking for a new Software Engineer.
You will study requests issued from customers for detection of new applications.
You will reproduce their environnment, sometimes large enterprise or industrial solutions, collect information on nework protocols it uses and finally prepare specifications for the development teams. At the end of the process, they will build a signature for that application, like what is done for other cybersecutity products such as anti-virus or IDS.
You may also participate in building study tools : checking that existing signatures are up to date. If you are curisous and enjoy studying new and unknown things to understand how they work you are the right candidate for this job.
